Most days my nails go bare and a nude nail paint makes this girl happy, but problem is that its hard to not get succumbed by a nice bright colour every once in a while.
A good nail paint is hard to get by, so when you find a brand that makes nail paint that is free from any nasty stuff, is toxin-free and cruelty-free (no animal testing and no animal ingredients) and glides on beautifully you ought to share.

I've finally found the perfect colour and consistency in BUTTER LONDON's '3 Free' Macbeth. You may be wondering its still the traditional pink but look through it's the pink you've been looking for.... super pretty colour that sits perfectly between red and pink. Very rich, chic and sophisticated. (Oh in case you're wondering, Butter London's called 3 Free because they use no toxic ingredients like formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP or Parabens)
On a holiday to London last summer, I discovered Butter London's nail polishes but just tried them on didn't really buy them. Ever since I had them on my mind and finally ordered them last month. Unfortunately, those are not the sublime hands that ideally should be modeling the pretty colour..... nevertheless those painted nails that you see are worn without a top or a finish coat. The reddish-pink lasted 4 days on my hand nails before it self-destructed itself.
Ahhh after all the blibber blabber you would be thinking its all ok, but where do I get them from? Lucky you, Butter London nail paints are available in India too. You can buy Butter from Urban Shore either from their brick and mortar stores (Urban Shore has flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi and their nail paints are also available at spas and stores across the country, click here for details) or from their online store (see their online store review here), i.e. if you're game for online shopping. They retail at Rs 1,200 a bottle, a little steep for a nail paint but it's money well spent considering they're free from any harmful toxins and have a great formula.
Here's so much for pink, I'm kind of planning to get little creative with my nails. Maybe for the next manicure. Although I always wonder 30 minutes is too long to be spending on a trivial task of getting the nail painted and I can think of better ways to spend the time. Nevertheless, here are some colours on my mind, which one do you suggest?

ReplyDeletethe colors are so nice !! :)
ReplyDeleteNice post... I'm obsessed with nail paints and own them in almost every shade available. However, I normally don't spend over 100 bucks a bottle. Rs.1200 is a little too much.. They stay only for a couple of days and you feel like changing the colours very often. So, no use spending so much... :) Great pictures btw...
ReplyDeleteLove,
Kavita.
I agree its a steep for a nail paint, but Kavita usually the cheap nail paints and even the good ones use toxins and harsh chemicals that cause lot of health problems (nail paints included).
DeleteYou should read yesterday's BT there's an article on it too.
Hence I try to use ones which are full of goodies or atleast no harmful stuff,, and a little price for that is ok.
4 days before it chipped? I would say that is really good, because usually my nail polish chips within a day. London Butter is about $12-$14 a bottle in the US. It is definitely on the upper end of the price spectrum but most people say it is worth the price.
ReplyDeleteI had a little trouble reading your post, but already it's ok. Of course now I am your observer - I am very pleased. See you :)

When I read your entry I was like "Where am I supposed to get this great nail polish in Austria?!" But when I walked into one of my favourite drug stores yesterday, the first thing I saw was a whole shelf of this amazing polish. I was so happy that I emidiately bought three (Hen Party, Come to Bed Red and Blowing Raspberries). So thank you again for blogging about this great product!!

Hey, SJ!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and your link was fruitful, indeed! I LOVED the whole concept of your blog, esp that you're a vegan and keep at it no matter how difficult it might prove for your inner fashion person. Being a Jain, I fully support you, gal! Really commendable!
The pictures are perfect! Stylish and some of the nail paints and stilettos had me whistling. Can I use the term, "Sexxoooo!" ???? *wink wink* :)
Such a lovely color!
ReplyDeleteChica de Ahora ♥
I'm in love with that color. I already bought like 2-3 nail polishes, and I have these times in which I want to try them all at the same time :P

So far I've always been hesitant to try out Butter London as they're superexpensive where I live but I think I might give them a try now. After all, we all need a little luxury in our lives right ;-)

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat colour is gorgeous.. and funnily it WAS the colour I was searching for. I settled on a similar OPI shade but I think the Butter London one looks a little softer/more subtle.. I want!

I love butter London! Expensive but worth the price for the fantastic colors. If you want to go a little more daring, one of my favorites is Rosie Lee (a pink glitter). It's so pretty and always gets fantastic compliments :)

Ahhh!!!! Cute!
ReplyDeleteLovely shades! Specially the last one....
ReplyDeleteOmg..Those nail colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat colour - I need to buy some polish of this coral colour. :)
ReplyDeleteNice color... I get tempted into buying nice colors too...n then it starts to chip off in a day or two or my nail ends up breaking!
ReplyDeleteTried base coats ...top coats ..nothing seemed to work!
So finally with the gel nail paints , I am hoping this disaster would end
Oh btw... I like all your sample pics...it is hard to choose a favorite! u shud try 'em all one by one :)

Ooh, I love the colors, especially the pink and coral ones. I have heard of the brand Butter but unfortunately, it's not that common here in the US. But I definitely plan to keep a look out for these colors by Butter (or perhaps a similar color by a different brand)...the colors so bright and summery!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and for your nice words! Following you now!
