Quan Spa is one of Mumbai's most well known spas set on a sprawling 10,000 sq ft area inside JW Mariott Hotel Mumbai. I love my regular spa and facial regimen and this was the first time I visited Quan for a treatment. Here's a quick review

Where: JW Marioot Juhu Tara Road, Mumbai
The Spa: Located inside one of Mumbai's finest hotels in Juhu, Quan Spa is one of the oldest luxury spas of Mumbai and has quite a name in the Mumbai Spa industry. They offer everything from massages, facials to Ayurvedic and water treatments. The spa has a very impressive lobby with a water wall installation by artist Sunil Padwal, immediately giving you a feeling of calm and tranquil. The spa speaks of luxury that is one of the important factors for me when choosing a spa{it gives me an assurance of product quality and hygiene}.
Service: I am a complete spa junkie. This was my first time at the Quan Spa but I was not really impressed with their service, esp after hearing so much about it in magazines, newspapers and websites.
The welcome at the spa was very lackluster, I wasn't offered any welcome drinks {isn't welcome drink a spa ritual?}, I booked for a facial at Quan and when I inquired about the products being used for the facial the therapist was not much aware. I insisted that she shows me the box {I use only vegan products so I make sure of the what is being used} to check the ingredients, which she did. The therapist didn't seem much interested from start to finish almost making me believe she was 'forced' to do the facial. Although I wouldn't say she did a bad job.
Atmosphere and interiors: The reception and waiting area was very impressive, music was soothing and relaxing. I went on a weekday evening and the spa didn't seem busy.
Treatment: I opted for a brightening rejuvenation 1 hour facial treatment. Before any treatment they start off with a feet cleaning ritual {image above}, following which I was taken for the facial. Like most good facials this one extended to the neck and decollete. They used a mix of Aromatherapy Associates and Thalgo products, starting off by cleansing the face with Aromatherapy Rose Exfoliating Cleanser, followed by a gentle massage and finally a mud pack.
While the treatment was relaxing, I didn't see any major change on my skin later. It was a brightening facial but it didnt do anything in the 'brightening' department; in fact I had some breakout post the facial, which is not usual. Nothing impressive I would say especially for the prices charged.
Will I visit Quan Spa again? I am not quite sure, I'd prefer my regular spa at the Four Seasons instead.
Points:
- Valet Parking Available
- Best to book an appointment before you visit as I tried visiting the spa earlier too, but they were fully booked then, so I went to Myrah Spa which is in Juhu too.
- Unisex spa
Price: Rs 6500 + taxes (total Rs 6,741) for the facial
I couldn't get the best pictures considering the dim lighting at the spa and my iPhone couldn't work magic {or I couldn't work magic with my iPhone}.
